About

Alchymist Prague Castle Suites Hotel

Occupying a historic building on a quiet lane between Prague Castle and the Vltava, Alchymist Prague Castle Suites is a deliberately small property — just eight rooms and suites. Expect rich, classic decor, a round-table breakfast room under a crystal chandelier, and a spa with sauna and jacuzzi.

Service is the other headline: guests consistently rate staff highly, mentioning everything from warm welcomes to thoughtful touches like complimentary wine tastings and even a resident Yorkshire Terrier named Stella.

In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Exceptional staff service — Guests repeatedly highlight the warm, attentive team, from butler service to the ever-smiling Bobin.
  • Intimate, characterful setting — With only eight rooms and a Baroque feel, the hotel offers a personal atmosphere you won't find in larger five-stars.
  • Perfectly placed for exploring — On a quiet street below the castle, it's a short walk to Charles Bridge and the old town, yet peaceful at night.
  • Impressive facilities for the size — A sauna, jacuzzi, fitness centre, and even an EV charging station are all on site – a rare combination for a small hotel.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Small scale means fewer choices — With just eight rooms, you'll need to book early, and the intimate setting may not suit those wanting a full resort experience.
  • Breakfast is a communal affair — The round-table breakfast is a highlight for social guests, but if you prefer privacy in the morning, it may feel intrusive.
  • Value for money is a personal call — Rates from £273 a night reflect the five-star boutique experience, and while guests rate value highly, it's a premium price.
  • Some rooms have basic showers — While most rooms are praised, at least one guest found the shower basic compared to the otherwise luxurious fittings.

“Huge room with amazing views over the medieval streets below the castle. Super comfy bed, fancy bathroom. Staff were brilliant, always giving great recommendations for food and sightseeing. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Location was perfect – short walk to the castle, Charles Bridge, and the old town. Found a great rooftop restaurant nearby, Terasa U Zlate Studne – incredible vibe and food.”

“Perfect location on a quiet street but close to everything. I felt safe walking back at night, and the peaceful atmosphere meant a great night's sleep. Staff were lovely, offering little treats and making sure I was comfortable. The adorable Yorkshire Terrier, Stella, was a bonus for a dog lover like me. The highlight was discovering the hidden Baroque garden with peacocks. My room, the Amethyst, was spacious, beautifully decorated, and the bed was comfortable. The complimentary soft drinks in the mini bar and L'Occitane toiletries were nice touches. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Minor niggles: the shower was basic and breakfast is at a large shared table, but I highly recommend this hotel for a cozy romantic getaway. I had a really good experience and would gladly return.”

“Alchymist Suites feels like a luxury home from home. The staff are delightful and courteous, especially Bobin, who greets you with a smile and handles every request. Location is very central, with all attractions within walking distance. Decor is opulent, just like the photos. A memorable stay – highly recommend.”
